About Photoshop?

You probably may have never used it, you may be curious as to where you can buy it? Or you may just want to know how much it'll set you back? Let me answer your questions.

Adobe Photoshop is an extremely versatile graphic manipulation program. It's used mainly for advanced graphic designers. Us Digimodders barely scrape the surface of this powerful package.

In this brief introduction I'll take a look at where you can buy Photoshop and it's features.

Manufacturer's website

Photoshop is produced by Adobe. Adobe's main website is http://www.adobe.com and from there you can find information about Photoshop.

Information about the "Photoshop Family" can be found here.

Where can I find Photoshop?

Photoshop can be found at any local computer shops. If you prefer to buy online then here are some links that may help you:

Adobe Store - The official Adobe online shop.
Amazon  - Search for and buy Photoshop from here.
Ebay - If you want a second hand copy, then why not bid for one off Ebay?

Which edition is the best?

As with all things, the newest version (Version CS2 or soon CS3) will be the best one to buy. Due to financial limits, you can get away with anything from version 5, as these will work best with the tutorials I have created. The main difference is the amount of tools you get.. However with virtual cars, it doesn't really matter. Some of the menu structures may be different to those in the tutorials, so please be aware of this if you have an older version. I am currently using version 7.0.

Trial Editions - DM has holds no responsibility for downloading files that are linked from here.

The Adobe Photoshop CS2 trial can for Windows can be found here and the trial for Mac can be found here.

The Adobe Photoshop CS3 Beta trial can be found here.

Extra help?

If you are after that little bit of extra help.. then why not press F1 once the program has loaded. This opens the Photoshop help files, in a very useful webpage with frames format. This is usually C:\Program Files\Adobe\Photoshop 7.0\Help\help.html (dependant on your drive letter and Photoshop version of course!)
