Tutorial:
Side Skirts |
STEP 1: In this tutorial we'll add a side skirt to the side of this Mazda 6 Estate.
STEP 2: I have managed to find a nice angle donor car from seriouswheels.com. The donor car is a Buick Lucerne.
STEP 3: Grab the Polygon Lasso tool (L) and draw closely around the edges of it. Once you have gone around the skirt in a full loop, the selection will be complete (hashed line like left). Then copy it, using the CTRL+C command.
STEP 4: Paste it (CTRL+V Command) onto the car you are modifying and then press CTRL+T to begin skewing it and altering it until it fits the car perfectly...
STEP 5:
... just like this! However, as you can see, this is a bad
colour match. If you are in the same situation, then now is the time to adjust the hue/saturation of the skirt. Go to Image>Adjust>Hue/Saturation. Adjusting the Hue "slider" will change the colour of the skirt. Adjusting the Saturation "slider" will change the intensity of the colour of the skirt. There is also a brightness
adjustment on there, should you need to make the skirt lighter or
darker. |

STEP 6: There we go! All it needs now is lowering slightly and a set of wheels!
